On Friday the 9th of November the whole school gathered together to pay their respects to the fallen soldiers throughout all wars and to commemorate the centenary of World War 1. Children, parents and the local community gathered together at St Marys Church, the service commemorated those soldiers, in particular, that had attended our school, who had gone to war and paid the ultimate sacrifice. Each class took turns in paying their respects through a variety of media; dance, poems, research and hymns. The congregation then gathered together at the memorial to lay a wreath of poppies and observe the two minutes silence. We were fortunate to be accompanied with the poignant tones of the Bugle playing The Last Post and Mr Cook from the British Legion bearing the Standard.
