On Thursday 17th November, a small group of children, from the school council, accompanied by a parent volunteer and a member of staff, made a visit to St. John's Ambulance HQ in Hadleigh, base of this years Operation Christmas Child. Each November thousands of churches, groups, schools and individual donors prepare and collect shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, personal items and other small gifts to support less fortunate children across the world. Our school donated 39 filled shoeboxes to the cause. The children spent the morning helping volunteers to pack, check, sort and label the mountain of donated shoeboxes with volunteer helpers from Operation Christmas Child. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for everyone, staff and children alike.
